Sheppey HLC opened in February 2003 and is now established as a major community and leisure venue.
We are a healthy living centre because many of our activities can help you improve your health or sense of well-being. Sheppey HLC is part of Sheppey Leisure Complex, which also includes Sheerness Swimming Pool. We have an exciting range of activities on offer for people of all ages and interests at Sheppey HLC including:
- A wide range of sport and fitness activities run by Serco, including a superb gym and various workout sessions.
- Screen on Sheppey, a community cinema.
- The Third Age Project, which offers activities for Older people.
- Activities for learning disabled people, offered by the Skillnet Group.
- A GP Surgery.
- A wide range of learning activies, includinga community learning programme.
There are about 50 different activities available in the centre and our linked outreach centres every week.

The HLC and most sport and dance activities are managed by Serco Leisure, working in partnership with Swale Community Leisure Trust/Swale Borough Council.Other activities are coordinated by Sheppey Matters, a registered charity, working in partnership with Swale Borough Council, Serco Leisure, East Kent Coastal Kent Primary Care Trust, Swale CVS and other local agencies.
