The Community Chef
Community Chef Project

The community chef project is now in its sixth year on Sheppey, and is a regular and well-known face to many mums and children following his successful work in Swale’s children centres, local schools, HM prison, villages halls and numerous other locations.
The world of tasty, easy-to-prepare food has been introduced to many families as chef goes about his quest to provide a healthy option to cheap processed meals in local supermarkets.
This year chef has received funding for a food truck; this brightly painted vehicle will be making its way around the island and rest of Swale bringing good and healthy food to the dinner table.
The community chef is also undertaking a training package on behalf of the local job centres to help young people to progress in the catering and hospitality industry. After three courses the success rate of placing young people in work has been good.
